Welcome to my HomePage!
Short Bio. I am an Italian mathematician and currently I am an Associate Professor in Algebra (with ASN qualification as “professore di prima fascia in 01/MATH-02 Algebra e Geometria”) at the Department of Physics, Informatics and Mathematics of the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia- Italy.
I received my Bachelor and Master degrees in Mathematics at the Università degli Studi di Roma “La Sapienza” (Italy). Then I moved to the Università degli Studi di L’Aquila for my PhD degree, and I spent two years at the Universidad del País Vasco/Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatea (Spain) working in collaboration with my PhD supervisor Gustavo Fernández-Alcober.
After obtained my PhD degree in 2010, I moved to Brasilia to work in collaboration with Pavel Shumyatsky. First I was a post-doctoral researcher holding a CNPq fellowship from 2011 to 2013 at Universidade de Brasília (UnB - Brazil). Later on, from January 2013 until December 2024, I was a “Professor Adjunto” at the Department of Mathematics of the University of Brasilia, on leave without paying from Jan/2022 to Dec/2024. I also was a recipient of a CNPq Research Productivity (PQ-2) fellowship from 2015 until 2022. During the academic year 2017 I spent a sabbatical year, as a CAPES visiting professor fellow, at the Department of Mathematics of the University of Padua and worked in collaboration with Andrea Lucchini.
From November 2021 until October 2024 I was a tenure track - Assistant Professor (Ricercatore RTDb) at the Department of Physics, Informatics and Mathematics of the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia.

| Nov 28, 2025 | I am so glad to announce that the inauguration ceremony of the exhibition “Ritratti di Matematiche dal mondo: un progetto partecipativo tra mostre, laboratori e attività per scuole e cittadinanza” took place on Thursday, 27 November 2025 at 5:00 PM at the ER-GO University Residence San Filippo Neri in Modena. The initiative, a Public Engagement project, promoted by the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia and the Department of Physics, Computer Science and Mathematics at UNIMORE with the patronage of several associations, brings to Modena for the first time the international exhibition Women of Mathematics from around the World – A Gallery of Portraits. It is a visual and narrative journey intertwining science and life, with the goal of highlighting the presence of women in mathematical research and promoting scientific culture from an inclusive perspective. The project is organized in two phases: after the exhibition at the Residence San Filippo Neri (27 November – 11 December 2025), it will continue at the Mathematics Building of the Department of Physics, Computer Science and Mathematics at UNIMORE (February – March 2026) with workshops and activities for local schools. Further details are available at webpage of the project https://www.ritrattidimatematiche.unimore.it/ |
