Welcome to my HomePage!
Short Bio. I am an Italian mathematician and currently I am an Associate Professor in Algebra (with ASN qualification as “professore di prima fascia in 01/MATH-02 Algebra e Geometria”) at the Department of Physics, Informatics and Mathematics of the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia- Italy.
I received my Bachelor and Master degrees in Mathematics at the Università degli Studi di Roma “La Sapienza” (Italy). Then I moved to the Università degli Studi di L’Aquila for my PhD degree, and I spent two years at the Universidad del País Vasco/Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatea (Spain) working in collaboration with my PhD supervisor Gustavo Fernández-Alcober.
After obtained my PhD degree in 2010, I moved to Brasilia to work in collaboration with Pavel Shumyatsky. First I was a post-doctoral researcher holding a CNPq fellowship from 2011 to 2013 at Universidade de Brasília (UnB - Brazil). Later on, from January 2013 until December 2024, I was a “Professor Adjunto” at the Department of Mathematics of the University of Brasilia, on leave without paying from Jan/2022 to Dec/2024. I also was a recipient of a CNPq Research Productivity (PQ-2) fellowship from 2015 until 2022. During the academic year 2017 I spent a sabbatical year, as a CAPES visiting professor fellow, at the Department of Mathematics of the University of Padua and worked in collaboration with Andrea Lucchini.
From November 2021 until October 2024 I was a tenure track - Assistant Professor (Ricercatore RTDb) at the Department of Physics, Informatics and Mathematics of the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia.

| Apr 21, 2026 | It is with great pleasure that I announce the final event of the Public Engagement project Ritratti di Matematiche dal mondo a participatory initiative that has brought together exhibitions, workshops, and activities for schools and the wider community. The meeting, titled Racconti di matematica: tra percorsi, errori e immaginazione will be a unique journey through scientific research, outreach, and art. Through dialogues, storytelling, and comic readings, three distinguished guests will guide us along this path: Barbara Nelli (UnivAQ) – mathematician, Roberto Natalini (IAC-CNR) – mathematician and science communicator and Alice Milani – comic artist and author of Sofia Kovalevskaja: Vita e rivoluzioni di una matematica geniale. When: Tuesday, April 28, 2026, from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM Where: First floor of the Mathematics Building, Dipartimento di Scienze Fisiche, Informatiche e Matematiche - UNIMORE, Via Campi 213/b, Modena. Event details are available at the link. |
